This is the inside of the club...there are so many ppl and its so hot and loud and its very overwhelming.An American from my program, Katie, and I are planning a trip going to Italy for a week in the middle of February. So we met last night at the library to buy our plane tickets. Of course this cannot be simple. We had met for lunch and tried to find the cheapest flight to Venice from Glasgow and we had wanted to go to Greece as well. But the only flight on the correct day that was under 100 pounds was to Rome. So we decided we'd do Greece another time :( I was kinda disappointed, but 8 days in Italy will be amazing! We used Ryanair, and the session kept timing out for both of us. I used my debit card to pay, but then it said u entered an invalid account number, please go back and correct this and resubmit your payment. I did, and it said it again. So I closed out and did it all again, using my credit card and this time it worked. Then I checked my email and I had 3 emails w/confirmation on them, and two of them were charged to my debit card. I immediately freaked out, of course (we even got warned by the security guard that we needed to keep our voices down). We tried to call the airlines, but it was already past 9pm. So I had to wait until morning.
Now it was already almost 10pm by the time I got back to Cairncross and I needed to finish reading a book for seminar the next day (I had meant to do it earlier, but the book was for Scottish lit., and there ended up being a showing of the movie at 2pm that lasted until 4pm. I had lectures from 10-12 that morning, then met Katie and Ashlee for lunch, and we did the research for flights til I had to go to the movie. After the movie I had to go back to Cairncross and eat dinner and I watched The Importance of Being Earnest on youtube while I read along for my English lit. seminar tomorrow, then met Katie at 8pm in the library.) Anyways, it took longer than I thought in the library, so I finally got back at 10pm and ran into Emma, Becca and Becks in the hall and they were like we're going out, wanna come?! I was like, well when? In 30 mins. So I rushed back to my room to get changed and met them in a kitchen on the first floor, where they had music blaring and people dancing and it was crazy. I met a few new people, then we all went to O Couture, a club. I'm still suprised at how friendly ppl are! I saw ppl I met last night, this morning and they waved and were like did u have fun last night!? Unfortunately, I only went to the club cuz I was stressed out and they actually invited me to go w/them even tho Paula didn't go! I was talking to Becks, and I told her how I felt like I didn't fit in w/them and I was trying to look like them, and she got all excited and was like we'll give u a makeover!! I agreed, thinking by morning she would never remember.
Beck's and I finally left around 2:30am. I still had to read that book, so I stayed up til 4am and didn't get it finished. I set my alarm for 9am b/c I wanted to call Ryanair and get everything straightened out first thing in the morning, and I still needed to finish my book before lecture at 11am. I was on hold for quite a while w/ryanair and didn't get my book finished. I tried to read it on the walk to class, but it was icy and I have to cross busy streets, so it didn't work out well. I finally made it to seminar w/only 3 pages left to read, but it was fine, I, as usual didn't speak, so whatever.
I decided to walk back to Cairncross for lunch (cuz I'm too cheap to buy food at Uni) in my hour between classes. I just put my Super Noodles on the hob, and I run into Emma, who is all excited about giving me a makeover, and I was like, oh Becca remembered??? And she was like, yeah grab your food and come to Becca's room. I got my pasta and went and sat w/them while they talked about what they wanted to do w/my hair, and makeup and take me shopping. I am thinking I'm not going to have much of a say in what they are going to do. I'm a little scared.

I haven't really seen Paula in 2 days, she hasn't been sleeping here, which makes my room soooo cold, I have to sleep w/my face under the blankets.
Now I have to go to a movie screening from 5-8pm.
Oh my God! I hope you got everything sorted out, I've always been wary about buying things online. I hope you have fun in Italy, that sounds like it'll be awesome! Are you going to check out the Vatican or anything since you'll be in Rome?
